Airstream was looking for a way to utilize its brand to help dealers retail more used Airstream units by enticing customers to return to the stores as opposed to purchasing used Airstreams elsewhere. So in 2016 at the Airstream National Dealer Meeting, Justin Humphreys, Airstream COO, announced that Airstream, Phoenix American and Nationwide Insurance Group had created the Airstream CPO program, designed specifically for used Airstream units, as well as the Airstream Elite service contract, an exclusionary service contract to be sold on new and used Airstream units. The Airstream branded certified pre-owned program allows Airstream dealers to make more retail revenue, as well as to grow their F&I income.
As Justin Humphreys stated at the launch of the Airstream CPO program, Airstream wants dealers “completely committed to the brand, sales, service and parts,” and that the Airstream/Phoenix American CPO and VSC programs are an integral part of that goal.
Our claims administration services are handled on-site by our ASE “Blue Seal of Excellence” certified claims staff. With our ASE certification comes a high level of expertise and dedication to the claims process. To enhance the claims process our in-house IT staff has developed a secure proprietary claims platform designed to streamline the claims process for our business partners.
Since 1985 we have paid in excess of $2.0 billion in claims payments to our VSC and GAP Waiver customers. Approximately 82% of all VSC claims are paid by credit card on the date the claim is reported to us by the repair facility. All of our calls are recorded for quality assurance purposes and evaluated in order to provide feedback to our customer service specialists. As a result we maintain a 99.00% service factor for handling calls. We are committed to working with our dealers and producers to provide the level of service you expect.
Compliance with individual state and federal laws and regulations, such as those rules promulgated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”) has become an ever-increasing part of our business.
Phoenix American has implemented strong internal controls to monitor state and federal regulatory requirements to ensure compliance. Our staff prepares all form and rate filings, financial reports, and compliance materials necessary for all VSCs, GAP Waivers, and other ancillary products that our business partners offer.
Our company is a founding member of both the Service Contract Industry Council (“SCIC”) and Guaranteed Asset Protection Association (“GAPA”), national trade association(s) who are dedicated to tracking state and federal legislative and regulatory developments relating to the VSC and GAP Waiver industry.
Our membership in these associations serves as a redundant process to ensure that our internal company compliance team identifies any new regulatory developments. Any new information pertaining to “Best Practices” is sent systematically to all of our agents and field staff for distribution to their respective business partners.
